What you'll be doing...



Reshaping the future of FP&A at Verizon calls for improving our ability to deliver exceptional value to our internal FP&A customers. Being a part of the FP&A Center of Excellence (COE) organization, you will work alongside finance and process improvement professionals, gaining opportunities to grow and develop to build a strong FP&A foundation. You will be involved in the enablement of the processes and systems underlying financial planning activities executed by the COE. By designing and delivering value-added analytical solutions that provide the roadmap for Verizon's digital financial journey you will help explore the breadth of opportunities that come with aligning your expertise with the future roadmap for the FP&A Center of Excellence.

  • Identify business processes and systems improvements with your COEpartners to deliver and enable enhanced financial planning processes.
  • Document business and functional requirements to leverage state-of-the-art digital finance tools.
  • Design and administer user acceptance testing with business users and collaborate with technical teams in order to resolve discrepancies.
  • Develop documentation and execute training sessions for stakeholders on implemented solutions, processes and/or tools as the subject matter expert.
  • Facilitate post-mortem assessments to drive continuous improvement and incorporate results into on-going business process and system improvement best practices.

What we're looking for...



You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Management Information Systems or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience in business process improvement and project management.
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following financial planning systems: Anaplan, Hyperion Planning, Oracle Performance Management or similar.
  • Experience with use of Oracle Essbase & Smart View.

Even better if you have:

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Management Information Systems
  • Communication skills and a proven ability to focus on the details.
  • Agile or Traditional Project Management Certifications (PMP, PMI-ACP, Scrum Master)
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning processes.
  • Basic scripting ability with Python, R, Visual Basic and/or SQL.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and digital finance tools including: Qlik, Tableau, Thoughtspot, Alteryx, Knime and/or Power Query.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.
